Mount Huashan is one of the most famous mountains in China (Mt. Taishan, the Eastern Mountain in Shandong Province; Mt. Hengshan, the Southern Mountain in Hunan Province; Mt. Huashan, the Western Mountain in Shaanxi Province; Mt. Hengshan, the Northern Mountain in Shanxi Province and Mt. Songshan, the Central Mountain in Henan Province), Mt. Huashan stands to the south of Huayin City, 120 km (about 74.6 miles) east of Xian. It overlooks the Huanghe River and the Weishui River in the north and connects with the Qinling Mountains to the south.

Attractions of Mt Huashan
Mt. Huashan has more than two hundred places of interest and fascinating scenic spots, which is famous for its egregious cliffs, mainly consists of five peaks which look like five petals of a flower. There are five main peaks on Mt Huashan:

East Peak is facing Sun Peak which is 2,090 meters (about 6,857 ft) high above sea level. It is also called Facing Sun Peak because the top of the peak is the best place to watch the sunrise.East Peak is one well-known scenic spot called the 'Immortal's Palm Peak of Mt. Huashan'

South Peak is also called landing Wild Geese Peak, with an altitude of 2,160.5 meters (about 7,088.3 ft), is always considered to be the head of the peaks. Tourists who summit South Peak are undoubtedly winners. Looking around at the peak, all are luxuriantly green surrounding mountains; the Yellow River wanders far below and everything seems small. Legend has it that the wild geese returning from the south often landed at South Peak, giving the area the name 'Landing Wild Geese Peak'.

West Peak also called facing Sun Peak. West Peak is 2,086.6 meters (about 6,845.8 ft) high and is always called Lotus Peak because of the unique shape. It will cost you 4 to 6 hours to climb to the top of East Peak requires 4 to 6 hours. One well-known scenic spot called the 'Immortal's Palm Peak of Mt. Huashan' which is ranked as one of the 'Eight Scenic Wonders of the Guanzhong Area (the plain area in the middle of Shaanxi Province)' is located on East Peak.

North Peak also called cloud Terrace Peak, which is 1,614 meters (about 5,295 feet) high. North Peak was called Clouds Stand by ancient people, looks like a flat platform in the clouds. With cliffs on three sides and one side is to the 'Ca'er (the ear rubbing the cliff) Cliff' which is the fourth precipitous path where tourists can climb up only by pressing an ear close to the cliff. The most important site on the North Peak is the Zhenwu Hall for God of North.

Middle Peak also called Jade Maiden Peak, The middle peak got its name because of a story telling that the daughter of Qin Mugong (569 B.C.-621 B.C.) loved a man who was good at playing Chinese tung-hsiao (vertical flute) and she was tired of the royal life to become a hermit who cultivated her spirituality here, So she lived reclusively in Middle Peak with her husband, hence the name Jade Maiden Peak. Today Jade Maiden Temple and Jade Maiden Basin for Shampooing can be found on the peak.

Service facilities
In recent years, the basic construction of Mt.Huashan has developed rapidly.
In past, there was only one path leading to Mt.Huashan. Now traveling on Mt. Huashan by cable car is another good choice for tourists. there is an about 8-kilometer-long (about 5 miles long) cement road leading up to Wamiaogou where you can take the cable car directly to the North Peak of Mt. Huashan.
